How guests find their event photos with a selfie

A guest opens the event’s link or QR code, agrees to a face search, and takes a selfie or uploads a clear photo of themselves. PixSpace compares it with that event’s photos only and shows the photos they’re in. Photos it isn’t sure about are shown apart, and the selfie is deleted after the search.

What the guest does

  1. Opens the event’s link or scans its QR code. The gallery opens in the phone’s browser, with no app and no account.
  2. Answers one question: whether they agree to a face search. Saying no means no search, and they can browse instead when the photographer allows it.
  3. Takes a selfie or uploads a clear photo of themselves, and frames their face under the oval: drag, pinch or use the slider to zoom.
  4. Sees the photos they’re in. In an album with chapters, they’re grouped by chapter.

On plans that include guest registration, a photographer can also ask for a name and phone number before the search.

What the guest sees

Photos PixSpace is sure about come first. Photos it isn’t sure about are shown apart, so the guest decides whether they’re in them. When nothing matches, PixSpace says so instead of guessing: the guest can try another selfie, or browse the gallery when the photographer allows it.

On plans that include downloads or WhatsApp sharing, guests save the photos they’re in or send them on WhatsApp from there.

What the photographer controls

  • Face search is on or off for each event, and can be switched at any time.
  • Find my photos shows each guest only what their selfie matched. Whole album also lets guests browse everything while browsing is on.
  • A PIN keeps a gallery to the guests you give it to.
  • The People tab groups the event’s photos by person, and you can rename, merge or split them.

While photos are still being added

Face search opens once the first photos are ready. Guests can search those while the rest are still being added, and come back later for more.

Which plans include it

Face search is a plan feature. The pricing page shows which plans include it, and how many events can have it switched on at once.

Questions

  • What happens to a guest’s selfie?

It’s used for one search and deleted as soon as that search has run. No face data from the selfie is stored. Every guest is asked before the camera opens, and anyone who says no is never searched.

  • What if PixSpace isn’t sure a photo is me?

Photos it isn’t sure about are shown apart from the rest, and you decide whether they’re you. If it finds nothing, it says so: you can retake the selfie, or browse the gallery when the photographer allows it.

  • Can I find photos of my family too?

Yes, on an event’s Find my photos link. After your own results, choose Find someone else: the consent question is asked for them, and their photos are added to what you’ve found in that visit.
